"What started as a shared routine turned into a shared vision. GlossyMuse was built on the belief that busy lives still deserve beautiful details."
- Jessica Lee, Co-Founder of GlossyMuse
People who know me well know that I enjoy spending time on small self-care rituals, no matter how busy life gets. Whether it is yoga, skincare, tasty meal, or simply taking a few minutes to reset, I have always believed that looking after yourself is not a luxury. It is part of maintaining a positive mindset and showing up as your best self every day.
Wenny has been a good friend and colleague for years. We were both constantly juggling projects, responsibilities, transformations, deadlines and everything else life throws at us.
Yet somehow, every few weeks, both of us would show up with a fresh set of nails, as if we were on the same nail cycle. It felt strangely similar to how women sometimes joke about syncing their calendars. We would exchange a knowing smile and slip into nail-related chats, quickly moving beyond designs and colours and into the realities behind them.
The Conversations Behind the Nails
We talked about squeezing salon appointments into already packed schedules, settling for simpler designs because of time limits, and that familiar frustration when a perfectly good set was ruined by one chipped corner.
That was probably the moment we started looking for a better solution.
From Shared Frustration to Shared Project
Much like the way we approached projects at work, we found ourselves brainstorming ideas, challenging assumptions, meeting up lots of associates and trying to solve the problem together.
“Looking back now, building something around that shared frustration felt surprisingly natural - almost as natural as the way we had always worked together.”
What began as casual conversations gradually became something bigger.
Not because we had grand plans from the beginning, but because we genuinely believed there had to be a better way for busy women to enjoy beautiful nails without sacrificing flexibility, creativity, or convenience.
Still Learning, Still Building
The journey is still ongoing, but I am grateful that a shared appreciation for the little things in life turned into something we could build together.
And yes, one of the unexpected perks is being able to try far more nail arts than any reasonable person probably should.
If there is one thing we have learned along the way, it is that confidence often comes from the smallest details — and sometimes, something as simple as a fresh set of nails can brighten an entire day.
